In addition to the reasons you mentioned on 'why the federal government made the agreement', another reason from my own perspective is that, it's all about the people's psychology and expectations, and especially future generations acceptance, to make a unified ethiopia sustainable. Tigrians should feel that they are part of Ethiopia by unification, as it was from ancient times, not by force. They should feel that they are part of Ethiopia, not a property of a new Ethiopia. They shouldn't feel that they are defeated, but that they are integrated. They shouldn't feel like they are the exiled kings, but the shared owners of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

  5. The same thing was being said about TPLF and Tigray, the former unofficial governing body of Ethiopia, and they got nearly defeated, and that Ethiopia was going to be a new Yugoslavia. Now, the same thing is being said for Amhara. Amharas don't want independence at all. Amharas where the first building block of Ethiopia, their whole identity revolves around Ethiopia. Many of them want to get justice legitimately, and rule Ethiopia illegitimately, but never to divide Ethiopia

Algeria was much richer comparatively, that before the French colonial invasion, Algeria was loaning France, although France held much more colonies in the Americas. Then France invaded Algeria, abolished the loans, took the treasury, killed the rulers, rich people and educated populations, humiliated Algerian women, nuked it's deserts and experienced nuclear impact on human by Algerian bodies near villages, and those people are still suffering. In fact, many parts of the effiel tower were brought from Algeria. They killed, imprisoned and tortured educated people of Algeria. Imagine just all these never happened. Ok, imagine only Algerian money wasn't stolen and was invested, there is a very high chance Algerians would be richer than the french people in per capita terms. How devastating, and still French politicians call Algeria (a country created by France) rejecting the fact that Algeria existed many centuries ago and humiliating Algerians in France.

Plus, the country became an apartheid state were only one religious group ruled this land that was for Palestinians, and imagine Europe being partitioned to arab and Europe?
