  5. ​ @dissonanceparadiddle  The public should be independent. Instead of paying social security taxes to the government, pay "Social Security Obligations" to a separate public entity not under the government, independent like the FED, but ruled bybthe public, especially by its higher public contributors (to encourage contributions). It shouldn't be under the congress, because the congress is too corrupt and its not a specialised expertise on social issues.

  7.  @Fluxwux  why not? That'd open more doors for specialisation. You can read my previous reply here. Congressmen/women are not specialised in everything they manage. They manage the healthcare of the nation, and they have no knowledge of healthcare except the lobbying, they don't understand tech yet they regulate it, they're not social expertise, yet they manage social security, they're not foreign relations strategists, yet they are allowed to almost abolish the USAID. And more... You're undermining specialisations by overestimating economies of scales, the same problem communists fell for. These two concepts are complementary, an excess of one over the other is always worse than the balance

  8.  @Fluxwux  ik, but they decide how much to tax for these agencies, how much to spend on them and the president might be able to stop critical researchs or initiate unimportant ones, like the president did with cancer R&Ds by DOGE. I believe the government should be more specialised and less inflated, especially for national security matters
