Besides corruption, the western world applauded Mr. Mandela when he decided to not exploit the whites, while this looked good, what should've done is for like some 50% of their properties should've been either redistributed or used by the state to lower inequality. South Africa is well known to be the most unequal country on earth. After all, the alot of the wealth were exploited from the native Africans, like by land confiscations and forced labour, and most importantly by denying them equal rights to just do unpolitical civil things
