  1. "Beowulf" with Angelina Jolie is CGI. The DVD contains how the images were generated. I didn't find it creepy at all, probably because i watched the processes by which the movie was generated.

  2. Back in 1962, emerging from childhood into adolescence, I was becoming aware of the need for good manners. On our weekly Friday night shopping trip, my father took me into a local shop to look for school clothes. I got engrossed in selecting more grown-up styles. So engrossed that I backed into a rather lifelike mannequin and, without really looking, automatically said, "Excuse me, ma'am. I'm so very sorry." At which point my beloved father fell on the floor laughing. In a few seconds, I was laughing, too. Thereafter, before entering a shop, he'd say, "Watch out for those plaster of Paris women!" RIP, Daddy. I miss you so much.
