Grimm's may have been grim to children before TV, but I can assure you that, when I decided to show my second graders -- SECOND GRADERS -- how scary these tales originally were, the little cherubs in my classroom fell out of their seats, LAUGHING!! These tales were cautionary to the middle ages, not the end of the 20th century!!!
