  2. Mary Kathlesn Sapp--In the 1950s, it was the polio scare. We all got vaccinated. Then, in the 1960s, our parents were building bomb shelters in the basements (even though the half-life of the radiation from a full-out nuclear exchange would take THOUSANDS of years to occur). Then it was Swine Flu (more inoculations), Legionnaire's Disease, Three Mile Island nuclear power plant failure (almost a meltdown), Lyme disease, HIV/AIDS, Ebola, H1N1, SARS, and now this. Each was a media-driven PANIC. However, we NEVER resorted to these draconian measures and a near-police state. The sheriff in Riverside County, CA approached the County Board of Supervisors and told them that his agency is OVERWHELMED with calls for increases in suicide attempts, spousal abuse and child abuse calls, and calls of people with severe depression because there's no place to go and damned little to do after 9 weeks of this horseshit. He said he did not have either the manpower or the will to arrest people for not wearing face masks. I hope this guy runs for PRESIDENT!!!
