Merriam Webster defines nationalism as: “loyalty and devotion to a nation especially : a sense of national consciousness (see consciousness sense 1c) exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations or supranational groups”. What is sad here is the terrorist aggressor Putin is trying unsuccessfully to manipulate Russian pride instead of stating his real reason for this death and rape by the invaders. What is that you say? One word, vanity. How sad for all of us.
