  1. "interest rates are still stupidly low" Same stupid thing in CDA & USA. "taxes and vat are ridiculously high!" 5% VAT in CDA and 0% VAT in USA, also CDA has got one of the lowest corporate tax rates in the world. In EU, by EU strict rules, min VAT rate is 15%, therefore the VAT rates of CDA for instance would be illegal by EU strict rules, UK, as long as it's part of EU, they cannot lower their taxes w/o EU's strict approval and EU is all for HIGH taxes all across the board. UK-EU: Bad Marriage.

  2. "North Sea oil production slumped" Just curious, IF that's true, WHY? Here in Canada we have more oil than Saudi Arabia and our CONSERVATIVE govt is not shy at all in using it at max to create more wealth and well-being for our economy, ultimately everybody benefits from a strong economy. 7.1% unemployment rate in Canada.
