For me he's a magical charlatan but for those who truly believe in him he is MLK 2.0, they've been waiting for him for 60+ years, I'm pretty sure he is already seen as the greatest US President ever, also I don't think they (media included) see him as a normal political figure, for them Obama = Messiah... 2nd Coming.
