@gmanzeroalpha No reason for kiddin' of any kind, especially when so many tragedies on just one luxury cruiser, it was announced on Canadian TV about his past "academic" accomplishments... lots of them. In other words the guy was a PHONY with a pretty hefty salary AND... an exotic Moldovian mistress who wasn't even registered to be on the boat = free ride for her, as long as she performs gooooooood, if you know what I mean...

...plus he has never graduated from a Naval Academy, Commercial or Military, he was a security officer when elevated as a naval captain by the Italian subsidiary of the Miami-based American company. BAD MOVE!!!

@gmanzeroalpha As per 'Francesco Schettino bio' widely available on-line, he joined Costa "family" of luxury cruisers in 2002 as a 'safety officer', in USA & CDA we call it security officer, and then promoted as a real captain, maybe Italian maritime rules are different than the American ones, but what's for sure this individual had no maritime PASSION in his blood other than a pretty hefty salary, love for beautiful women and now... apparently passion for dope as well.
