  4. 1) See my very last comment please 2) Civil unions for homosexuals already offer all real life benefits heterosexual married couples have, but there is one more thing that's got to be done, to fully destroy the traditional DEFINITION of marriage, a sacred union btwn one man and one woman, it's like a payback for centuries of religious traditions liberal MSM of today (or for the past 30+ years rather) sees as something primitive and offensive, so it's just hatred towards traditional marriage.

Anybody in a DEMOCRACY should have the the following fundamental freedoms: freedom of conscience and religion, freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, I repeat, EVERYBODY, that includes each and every person who agrees or is against TRADITIONAL marriage. Therefore if you wanna change the thousands-year-long traditional definition of marriage, a sacred union btwn one man and one woman, you gotta do it democratically thru the WILL OF THE PPL = NATIONAL REFERENDUM.

I'll adjust your statement: you enjoy living in a western-style democracy (otherwise you would be by now in NK or Iran or Cuba or Venezuela or China, right?) but in the same time you want that same democracy to exempt your personal lifestyle from the otherwise very normal democratic process major pieces of social legislation need to be part of, right? As I'm not a Brit I simply went to wikipedia to find some info on this very controversial issue and found these pages, 'Civil partnership in the UK' & 'LGBT rights in the UK', I was just curious to see if any difference btwn civil unions and civil marriages when it comes to couple's civil rights aka social security, pensions, property & parental rights, hospital visitations, etc., couldn't find any, therefore Q: what's the difference btwn a civil union and a civil marriage, the word "marriage"?

I rarely go to church, mostly Christmas and Easter, but I strongly support the TRADITIONAL definition of marriage as a sacred union btwn one man and one woman, therefore not agreeing with homosexual marriage has nothing to do with religion but rather with your personal believes, also homosexual lifestyle and their sex acts have a fundamental impact on ppl who are not used with that kind of alternative lifestyle. You see, nothing about religion.

Don't know how it's in UK, if you have any blacks over there, but over here, USA & CDA, blacks are the largest monolithic demographic group who opposes homosexuality AND obviously homosexual marriage, at least 95% of them are against anything even remotely linked to same-sex issues. Try to go into any black neighborhood as a white male and take your boyfriend with you and hold hands or kiss each other, etc., and then let me know of what happened next. Just some food for thought.
