@Hutchartwork Glad to hear now, from YOU, a W GE citizen, that next-2-be (if approved) GE President was a TRUE anti-communist in E GE before '90, no idea why Euronews is so afraid to use the words 'anti-communist', right? RFE based in Munich was our ONLY source of free info, listened to RFE since 1977 until 1990, including during the terrorist attack on its HQ in the '80s, Carlos the Jackal and his damn palestinian foot soldiers with funds from Ceaucescu & Saddam Hussein.

@Hutchartwork I'll never forget the ugly look of the Berlin Wall, both walls and the barb wire btwn and all the E GE border guards, took the S-Bahn a lot in E Berlin, got there with my parents and their car and stayed in some local tourist camps, walked many times on Under The Linden Blvd, by TV Tower and Brandenburg Gate, and once, '91, on the W side of Berlin, saw the little cemetery of the brave fallen E GE freedom-seekers killed by the E GE border guards, Reichstag as well.

@Hutchartwork I lived 27 years in RO before 1990, been to E GE in '81, '83 & '85, by Berlin Wall included, in those times ppl against E EU tyrannical governments were called ANTI-COMMUNISTS, we all fought hard against COMMUNISM, also there was no revolution in E Germany, REAL revolution and a very bloody one, 1,000+ ppl killed, was in RO only. So was this particular individual a TRUE anti-communist like Lech Walesa or Vaclav Havel during Honecker or Ulbricht eras?
