The type of conservatism you are seeing in EU, over here in NA would qualify only under the LIBERTARIAN banner, something btwn a liberal and a conservative, over here, USA & CDA, TRUE conservatives, ppl and politicians, are pro-traditional marriage, pro-life, anti-marijuana laws, anti-prostitution, pro-military/war, pro-Israel, anti-global warming laws, anti-universal healthcare, lower taxes.

@megamarsvin Social dictatorship, anywhere in the world: when UNELECTED judges, Massachusetts another example, become law makers and ORDER (or DICTATE) to the Parliament and/or ordinary ppl how a particular social law, marriage law in this case, should look like. I'm a strong proponent of a DEMOCRATIC VOTE on pretty much everything regardless of how much some ppl would be hurt by the outcome of that vote, that's called DEMOCRACY. How homosexual marriage was legalized in Holland?

@megamarsvin YOU tell me what a "neo-con" is, over here in CDA or USA we do not use this such term, I guess that's for EU, so feel free to explain me, a pretty dumb CDN, the difference btwn a socially and fiscally conservative, pro-military as well, and a neo-con. But for you, in social issues, conservative: pro-traditional marriage, pro-life, anti-prostitution, anti-free marijuana, in immigration: pro-legal immigration with patriotic assimilation.

@megamarsvin Please watch this video: /watch?v=OfC99LrrM2Q Sonia Sotomayor is now one of the 9 US Supreme Court judges, she was nominated by Obama in 2009 or 2010. Go to wikipedia and same-sex marriage in USA and click on Massachusetts and see how s-s marriage was legalized in that state as well. Again, in CDA s-s marriage was legalized by provincial courts, wikipedia will show you that, and over here, USA & CDA, judges are appointed by the leaders of the country not by the ppl.

@megamarsvin Buddy, cause you apparently are lacking knowledge of political terms, here you go just for you: neo-con is short for neo-conservative and neo-conservative is a person primarily concerned with foreign policy with none or minimum interest in social and/or economical issues. Neo-con has nothing in common with a TRUE conservative who deeply cares about social, fiscal and military issues all seen from a conservative traditional standpoint. Educate yourself.

@TDOTEMPIRE 2003 polls of canadians asking LIBERAL Jean Chretien for a NATIONAL REFERENDUM, go to your Ryerson liberal libraries and get the Toronto Star or Sun or Globe & Mail newspapers of that time, and refresh your memory, Mr Ryerson Social Justice Anti-War liberal, all right? That was all on TV, Mr Liberal, including the emergency meeting over the weekend with Jean Chretien and his liberal caucus simply fighting with his more conservative members to oppose the referendum.

@megamarsvin SOCIAL dictatorship, when somebody, in this case UNELECTED JUDGES, dictates a verdict based on a social issue against the will of the ppl, again that's for 2003 when the law came in place in CDA. So again, in CDA this law has never been approved by the canadian ppl thru a NATIONAL REFERENDUM or any other kind of national vote, in our case unelected judges chosen social dictatorship over DEMOCRACY, against letting ppl decide how the marriage law to look like.
