The amount of religious bullshit fed to the American population is freighting. I hope this crap stays over there. We are busy enough fighting the Qanon nonsense.

Of course, all scientists are lying and cannot be trusted, with the sole exception of Sabine Hossenfelder. Only she should be trusted; only she acts out of the purity of her heart. 🤣 She donates every cent earned on youtube to Doctors Without Borders, and if someone were to offer her a lucrative tenure, she would turn it down. Because riches mean nothing to her moral highness 🤣

The biggest problem imo is the US education system that fails to provide enough quality education to its citizens. Education is treated as a commodity which then benefits just a few. Add to this the paranoia driven business model of US social media, science illiteracy is now a world wide problem. For example, no one has every heard of QAnon in Europe before. By the time that nonsense got over here, millions of Americans have already signed it. So it has to be true. America supports an extreme form of capitalism that threatens to destroy democracies everywhere.

I always thought we need a grand European Firewall against that wave of pure BS coming from the US. Thanks to US social media. But unfortunately, there is a not ending supply of brilliant people from all over the world wanting to work in the US. Which makes the American population more or less not required to run the country. So they fled the real world to become born again christians hunting down the latest qanon fad. The gap between economic realty and conspiracy fantasies gets bigger each day.

Why is Heisenberg's uncertainty principle expressed in terms of Δx and Δp instead of just Δx and Δv? Now, you have to measure mass and velocity instead of just velocity. Basically I'm trying to understand, why we are using the momentum operator instead of the velocity operator ( iow.. assuming m is constant, why deal with it?)

The probability of a woman being there at the that time was exactly zero. Yet there she was, Madame Curie.

Do they think the sun is flat too?
