So, what difference would it make if they weren’t ruthless and narcissistic, if they were girls instead of boys? Exactly zero. I stopped tying economics to personal traits a long time ago. This is capitalism. nobody spends 500B to advance humanity. If that were truly the goal, it could have been done already without AI. So, what’s been holding them back? So. no matter how sympathetic, forward-thinking, or child-loving an investor or company may seem, they will always go for their own interests above all else. I would too, with that kind of capital. And when those interests go against those of millions, that’s when profits really soar. And with profits comes power. Contrary to popular belief, poverty doesn’t exist despite wealth... poverty exists because of it. For someone to gain a lot, somebody else has to lose a lot. But, people still believe this economy could work for them if only we had fewer narcissistic manboys, less migrants, better politicians, or someone like Trump, a personal Führer. To unite the nation and punish those who operate outside the supposed common collective interest (politicians like to pander to the greater common good). They think singling out minorities and punishing individuals will make the system work for them. Making them less vulnerable in a competitive capitalist society. They believe their nationality naturally justifies favorable treatment over others (story sounds familiar?). But to a Chinese or American investor, an American worker is just the same, a worker, a cost factor. It’s not about nationality. It’s about which side of the class system you belong to. Do you work at the production line, or do you own it? Do you fight a war that ultimately isn’t yours, or do you command the war? You’ll never learn that in school, sadly. Because school serves a specific purpose, too. One that necessarily can’t be in your best interest. If it were, it would only lead to too many fundamental questions.
