It's interesting to label early Communists, who sought to end the war mongering, as radical, while the existing powers with their capitalist agenda led to World War I and left millions dead in the trenches. They then reverted to the Nazi Ideology to yet start another war that would kill even more people. Perhaps it's fair to call them radicals as well?

  7. it depends how useful you were for the new capitalist rulers to fight off communism. As an example, Reinhard Gehlen head of Hitler's spy operation in Soviet Russia, was later re-instantiated by the CIA to fight Communists. He was assigned a group of former SS and SD/Gestapo Nazi members which eventually became the BND (now Germany's spy agency). There are thousands of case such as Gehlen where ardent Nazis were allowed to go on with their careers.
