A class that had never worked with their own hands thanks to the system that allows them to reap off the work of others. This is economic feudalism in the disguise of liberalism . You will suffer so they can make a profit. There is no "we".

  15. We've seen immense accumulation of wealth over the past decades thanks to increased productivity through out the world. Yet, we're being reminded and told on a daily basis to work harder, work longer hours and be more productive and even die sooner (life expectancy of the poor and middle class in the UK and US keeps falling). So where is all that growth and productivity going to? One would expect retirement at the age of 40 should be possible by now, right? Or at least buying property feasible within a life time? However the opposite is the case.

We are talking millions of dead and wounded. It would be very naive to believe that this wouldn't cause any form of repercussion in Europe. Ordinary people should stop blaming fellow ordinary people. Instead, demand from your elected politicians to stop provoking, meddling and instigating military operations and proxy wars in foreign countries. Ukraine falls under the exact same category. Victoria Nuland's intercepted phone call isn't the only evidence of how the EU and The US were pushing the whole Ukraine situation. Again, it's ordinary people that pay the price.

  20. Our leaders are the enemy. They are the ones fighting for more and more power. Let's just add this one country to NATO, wcpgw? NATO is the largest military force that has ever existed. If that hasn't stopped Putin, how is the EU that can't agree on anything going to change that? Mathematically impossible. The best for the population is f the US and EU stopped meddling in other countries internal affairs. But they keep doing the exact opposite. Politicians no matter who they are always want more power, land, investments, markets. It's never about the average population.

  30. When VW, BMW, Mercedes, and Audi were caught cheating with their diesel engines, they basically just got a slap on the wrist. Now, the same folks who tried to cover up for those car companies are going after the protesters. So yeah, it's about law and order, but it also seems like the government's got the back of these German auto giants, too.

  39. ​ @LenaRoss-i9e  My issue is that these critical journalistic pieces always frame the issue in moral terms – the victim versus the villain. The greedy CEO vs the poor mother. They personalize the issue but fail to deliver a systemic analysis of capitalist property ownership, land ownership, capital and means of production. "How can someone be so rich when they are so poor". Sounds like a contradiction, when it's moral thinking. However, if you understood capitalism, you'd understand that the rich can only exist because of the poor. A moral argument becomes one of class and power. Moral thinking offers no insight.

  41. They are basically fighting over which style of capitalism should dominate the rest of us, USA+Europe or China+Russia. It's pretty interesting since Europe, Russia and China all have massively aging population but huge amounts of capital and natural resources. It would actually make more sense for them to team up and work together (via the China silk road which is anyway meant to circumvent US-Nato controlled sea roads). But this is not going to happen, the US is way too dominant. So for Russia, time's running out if they want to grab a bigger piece of the global capital pie. All they can do is wager a war much like the US, since they are literally getting more senile every day.

  45. Gazprom made record profits in 2022, doubling the profits from 2021. These sanction have clearly failed and are only benefiting those oil and gas producers. There is no impact on the Russian military complex what so ever. While countries like Pakistan are now at the brink of collapse.
