You can't have a shrinking economy in capitalism. The only reason this kind of economy works is when property and business owners, rich people, make more money from money. This is not an issue of morality or greed; it's an inevitable fact. The instant this stops being the case on a global scale at that, banks will stop lending to companies, and the entire economy will come to a halt within a heartbeat. No food, no electricity, no work, nothing. Mass unemployment and global crisis will ensue. Capitalism isn't there to provide, its only goal is to make profit, no matter how. If there is no profit to be made from you, you might as well die since no one would care. Remember 2008 when the banks were saved at the expense of the average person? This is how important credit os to this system. As long as we have capitalism, there is no other way. It is literally impossible within this economic system.
