  1. They are basically fighting over which style of capitalism should dominate the rest of us, USA+Europe or China+Russia. It's pretty interesting since Europe, Russia and China all have massively aging population but huge amounts of capital and natural resources. It would actually make more sense for them to team up and work together (via the China silk road which is anyway meant to circumvent US-Nato controlled sea roads). But this is not going to happen, the US is way too dominant. So for Russia, time's running out if they want to grab a bigger piece of the global capital pie. All they can do is wager a war much like the US, since they are literally getting more senile every day.
