  1. Watching the launch of the crew dragon, I go into thinking what exactly makes moving towards the center of a larger mass for an object so much different than moving away from that center?. From what I understood both trajectories are just following the curvature of spacetime caused by the presence of a larger mass (earth), however in one direction you need to exert a force to escape the gravitational pull in the other the object experiences no force at all. So why? What makes these two directions so distinct? What gives the curvature of spacetime its direction regarding the gravitational pull?
