New York is so diverse you can’t tell the difference I’m not saying they’re not there but now that they are here it’s really no way spot who is or isn’t so it in fact “it feels no different”

If 2 people are walking in New York and they both speak Spanish but one is a citizen and the other is illegal how would you know? It’s whole neighborhoods in New York full of immigrants how would you tell who’s legal or illegal?

Plus how does an illegal own a fake legitimate construction company that doesn’t make any sense wouldn’t whoever is hiring them know if they’re legit or not? Also how would they even get caught are immigration agents gonna check every job site to verify every one is legal?

I doubt in a diverse place like NYC where a lot of people speak Spanish and it’s whole Spanish neighborhoods are randomly pulling up on random people to see if they’re legal they’d basically be racially profiling them as an illegal when could in fact be born and raised here and come from a Spanish speaking family. If someone is doing a job and it’s no problem why would anyone question it and think they’re illegal how can you catch them if they blend in with everyone else and that’s if they have a construction job they could have any kind of regular job like McDonald’s or regular 9-5 or maybe they have family here and not working at all. My point is you’ll never know who’s illegal or a citizen in NYC when majority of the people are immigrants from other countries

Who does that just go hire someone who is a citizen if that’s the case. You do know that immigrants aren’t the only people who do that kind of work it’s plenty of white guys that do that work too. I just don’t see the logic in hiring someone just to call the immigration office on them seems like a waste of time I’d assume a logical person just wouldn’t hire them if they have to do all that

If they give you no reason to report anything why would you report them unless you’re just racially profiling them just because they speak Spanish or a different language. If they do professional work and do their job the right way you wouldn’t be able to tell if they’re illegal or not you’re conflating two things that have nothing to do with each other there legal status has nothing to do with the work they’re doing especially if they’re following the rules and being professional

That would be something you’d do before hiring them plus what does business credentials have to do with someone’s legal status? Checking business credentials isn’t going to show if they’re here legally I’d assume the business credentials would be in someone else’s name who’s a citizen anyway
