  79. I totally agree your premise here that that money should be invested elsewhere. Thank you for voicing it, and thank you for having actual data displayed... a rarity. Well played :). This being said, Democrats have never been "cool with wars". Some people actually remember what wars have been waged and by who. The democrats have to play in the context they've been given. As long as the voters love wars and military spending, it will continue. At the same time, the voters are clueless about who starts wars and so one stupid meme and there is no reward for being less war-prone, and you've played that line over and over, so you are partly responsible. The voters, as a group, STINK! It's not just the politicians. If a politician proposed such a military budget over here, it would get, maybe, 10% votes. But not in the US... there, you have those huge masses of aholes. Let's do an exercise: If party A starts lots of wars and kills tons of civilians If party B is painted as a warmonger and the public buys it ... tell me exactly, what incentive do politicians have to not be warmongers... and how do they get elected? Yes, saying the democrats are as much warmongers as the republicans is EXACTLY how you make sure the blob-like military spending never ends and wars are continuously waged. The labour party in the UK is still paying for the Iraq war. In the US? Naah, because Benghaziiiiiii + "HRC wants a nuclear war with Russia". It's pathetic! Half the Progressives need to stop being a bunch of right-wing extremists tools.

  104. The ME refugees are NOT fleeing Obama's rare bombs. The freaking Iraq war followed by isil and so on when the US disengaged put them on the roads. Syria's ugly war put them on the roads too, on top of the economic problems of the area. The area had been destabilized. From there on, he could have: * completely gone out (check how that went in Iraq) * completely gone in (check how that went in Iraq) * helped the local govs flush out and exterminate the extremists as he mostly has done, and that at least has some hope of getting better and ending with the local govs being able to control their ground alone. I have problems with Obama's focus on getting rid of Assad when what really mattered should have been finding an end to the misery of the populations there. At one point Assad's future should have become a point of secondary interest. Apparently, it would have more to do with US military interests in the area: http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/37685-the-war-against-the-assad-regime-is-not-a-pipeline-war. Let me make it clear: the US, under Obama, has NOT been bombing the shit out of the ME, pushing the civilians on the roads. I'm fine with the US helping the locals get rid of extremist groups. The US morality took a dive as soon as oil companies dictated the agenda over there. And we all know what party treats them as royalty. GWB had Dick Cheney from Haliburton and trumpy will have Rex Tillerson of Exxon as SoS. A vote for republicans is a vote for shitting all over the ME and then play dumbfounded that refugees are knocking at the door. But eh, republicans have found their defense: "Muslims are terrorists and hate our liberty". I'd resettle those refugees on GWB, DC, trumpy and RT's properties. Nowhere is this saying dems are anywhere near clear on this, but the main culprits are republicans, and no amount of benghazigate, pizzagate and so on will manage to hide it.

  269. I really don't always agree with Jimmy Dore (and aren't shy about it), but this segment needs to be all over the place. Beautiful! I hate recognizing it but even Carlson looks very good in this one. If "conservatives" stop being dildoes focused on scapegoats, they can get to see the actual problems. I do believe my "side" is way more on the ball, but at the same time, it's hard not to realise that dems always end up providing just the amount of votes needed for crappy, corrupted legislation. Maybe the horrors piling up will end up with the US people working together to face the actual problems they face. And that will help the EU countries (I live in Belgium) because we are facing those problems too although we don't have the tuition debts and our healthcare is 2 to 3 times less costly, but we have more unemployment and face large deficits while having troubles providing resources and meaning to the lives of our less skilled workers and higher skilled ones that have messed up one way or another. We (the West) have lost our way and China knows that while it has pushed MASSIVE amount of their people over the poverty line, they will face those same problems if they get there. I'm a globalist because I don't believe in this balkanization of countries pegging them against each other and pushing them towards social dumping to attract/keep investors. We need new rules and we need to genuinely cooperate. I care not if someone is Chinese, "American", "European", Russian and so on and I certainly don't care about wasting resources, energy, wealth and happiness just to "dominate" or whatever. We can make Eden on Earth or all die in some stupid war... we can do both. We have what it takes for both. So what shall it be?
