Not really, its not like the human heart is the best it can be, if we could replace are hearts with better more efficient and powerful ones that would be preferable.

Would rather that then die
2
That requires much more effort , and people are dying from heart disease now so best to give them something now.
2
Honestly that part sounded the most dangerous to me out of everything said XD . Like imagine not being able to wake up because your heart rate is to low and you cant increase it in your sleep.
2
@sonman3694 no it is not. as soon as iron enters you blood it is molecularly bonded to other substances and loses its magnetic property's. In the state its in it would take so much magnetic power that you would be reduces to a floating blob of flesh before the iron in your blood was effected by said magnetism.
2
You realize that is literally what your heart is right now right ? Do you FEEL your heart beating in your chest constantly ?
1
Mechanical substitutions are less complex so they will probably come first.
1
WE very much can just keep extending human lifespan, potentially indefiently until we reach a tipping point were the amount we extend a humans life out paces the amount of time a human lives for, in which case we will be biologically immortal. And besides the more advanced a society gets the less children it has in the first place so it'll balance out , either on its own or through intervention.
1
You realize its the rich to contribute the most to society and have been the major driving force of most of humanity's advances right ?
1
Initially maybe but the price will come down eventually as all things do. And besides its better to have it cost a million dollars than to not have it at all.
1
I would have gone with heartless personally
1
Bacteria ? what do you think they are just gonna be picking these things up of that ground and sticking them into people ? they are suppose to be organs... they are gonna be in such sterile environments to bacteria could possibly hope to be on them. And air bubbles from ware and tear isnt something that needs to be worried about. Air isn't suddenly just gonna APPEAR inside the persons body.
1
Probably not at all really, even if humans were rendered biologically immortal today it wouldn't really be much to worry about since birth rates decline as society's advance.
1
We will be long off this planet by the year 12,000 and even if an asteroid were to be on a collision course with earth at that time then we would just destroy it or move it.
1
or... just create the hearts in a way where they dont get rejected ?
1
I problem i think could arise with continuous flow is how the heart interacts with the lungs, your lungs aren't constantly taking in oxygens and aren't constantly expelling carbon dioxide so a heart that is constantly pumping might through off that process a little bit potentially.
1
@Swavvy116Xrs It can but I do believe some measures are taken most of the time to make sure the heart is compatible with the patient, but in the cases when that's not possible and the patient still needs a heart I believe the patient has to go on imuno-suppressant drugs for the rest of heir life unfortunately
1
Well considering this new heart will be mechanical I don't think it will have a problem with temperature. As for the rest of your body I don't think its strictly your heart that participates in regulating your body temperature, it is a big part of it but not the only part so it could be fine.
1
"Rn there are no materials that wont get attacked by the body." titanium ? Gold? silver? I'm pretty sure all these metals are non reactive in the human body.
1
Life has no purpose, the only purpose to life is what people give it.
1
can you hear you heart right now ?
1
Magnets to move the motor, not to power the entire machine, it is a machine after all and all machines need power in some form.
1
Because that's taking away peoples right to do what they want with their own bodys ? I mean sure in country's that are based on socialized medicine where people have to be invested in others health that may be understandable but America values freedom alot so I don't see that going over well. And besides you realize that doesn't suddenly stop people from dying of heart attacks right ? You arent curing heart disease and heart defects by enacting laws like that .
1
Yeah? how about you go right ahead and do that .
1
i mean look at how far we have progress in 20 years, sure its not up some of the predictions from that time but in some other ways we have surpassed some expectations.
1
that wont help people that already have heart problems.
1
Sure in theory you can 3d print a heart with some cells, but that doesn't mean the printed heart is gonna work.
1
@bradleyhenderson1198 my point is that it is alot more difficult to produce than mechanical organs.
1
oh you mean like how we already prevent countless people from dying already with things like medicine and vaccines and surgery ? giving them better longer lives in the process ? Your saying we should just let all those people die right ? Death is a disease and diseases should be cured. Nature has no purpose us humans alone are the sole thins that give anything any purpose because we are the only things that can give anything purpose. We are no longer subject to nature , nature is subject to us.
1
@redsmurf3308 No death is not part of life it is quite literally the antithesis of life and will eventually be edited out of humans.
1
TRUUUUUE XD but hey that's the price of freedom
1
The iron in your blood isnt magnetic
1
Why ? It's already been shown to work some what. And as technology progresses it will just get better and better.
1
Because you cant really just forcing cells to form into a heart ?
1
Oh wow that is an interesting correlation O_O
1
You know you dont actually need a pulse to live right ? it severs no actual value to your body its just a side effect of having a heart.
