On the matter of extremism, it's not just about government. The Animal Party could be seen as pretty extreme, and so could the SGP (the christian fundamentalists) and in the past we've had communists, anarchists and a quite radical farmer's party. Most of them have shown to be a valuable contribution to debates and often the outcome and laws from their position despite not having much power.

It's a very open system by design. The beauty of it is that the voters and candidates have decided to make it not really a thing, but they could if they wanted to. Just like the voters and the candidates have made political parties into a thing, the systam allows for that but doesn't force it upon the voters.

@arjanzweers6542 They have been made 'impossible' to govern with because the federal EU and the mass immigration have to go on. These matters have to be outside the debate and should not be decided on by the voter, not in general elections, not in referenda, they just keep on happening while the parties debate about 0.3% more spending power for a certain group. That's a problem with any system, just like nothing will change with Wall Street in the US because both parties agree that Wall Street should be left alone.
