  4.  @karldavidssen7288  Not exactly. There were the (geographically) high Dutch, middle Dutch and nether Dutch, related but different. But Germany, Deutschland, was not a thing yet while the Dutch Republic as the English called it was dominating all European trade, ports and kicking English ass all the time. To the English the NetherDutch were by far the most relevant.
