Most have same other psychological disorder like autism or something at the same time. It's a desperate attempt to fit in it seems, purely superficial. For teenagers looks are much more important, how can they choose for looks at the expense at sexual function for the rest of their lives when they even haven't been in love yet, had sex and even the desire to is affected by drugs? The biggest problem is with the psychologists, they go well beyond their expertise. A kid feeling better after treatment is the measure of success in regular treatment, and rightly so. But this kind of treatment has effect for the rest of their lives, that can't be judged after a year in a teen's life when the kid gets lots of attention, believes it's going to fit in soon and has had mood changing drugs, which hormones are too. The bitter irony is that when treatment starts early, boys can develop a micro penis that has simply too little tissue to make a vagina out of.

Not just pure misery. Insecurity wants confirmation by other people doing the same thing, bad habits have to be justified by being shared too. Drinkers will push alcohol on people, same with drugs, I'm not opposed to drink and drugs at all but I have noticed the tendency to want to drag others in. They just want to share, not because they are evil but because they think they are being nice while being very selfish in their quest for confirmation of their habits they deep down have second thoughts on.
