  1. Maybe I am doing wishful thinking here but Thomas Sowell makes a good case for IQ being very much influenced by culture and it stopping IQ development in teenage years. Here the Sephardic jews were doing great for centuries while the Azkhenazi were a lower class, with institutional education in the 1800s they soared. Another taboo is inbreeding and it's IQ effects. In lots of islamic and African cultures inbreeding is viewed positively, to strengthen family bonds and the tribe, to keep wealth in the family, and lately to get more Western-European citizenships in the family.
