  1. I'm Dutch and in full support of the farmers, but this is not about climate but supposed to be about nature. Some say it's a land grab by government for much needed housing with ridiculous nitrogen norms and science as an excuse, I know it is not fair and it isn't based on proper science nor is it properly legal. But the Netherlands is about the size of Maryland and extremely densely populated, it's not feeding the world despite being the most efficient and environmentally friendly agriculture in the world and breeding pigs for Asia should really happen in bigger spaces. This is not about food vs climate change, this about government power vs the basics, not just basic rights but also basic needs and security. There are family farms that go back to the1300's, the Middle Ages, that will be taken. Almost all nature in the Netherlands is younger than that.
