  1. Central Europe was behind the iron curtain in the 80s. There were no Slowakian or Hungarian immigrants in the Netherlands.

  2.  @mr.cogito7167  There might have been cracks in the iron curtain in the late eighties, the Austrians were the only central Europeans that could travel freely. The others needed special permission from the communist party. We had Hungarians and the odd Czechoslowakian, but those were refugees from 55 and 67.

  5. It has nothing to do with race and everything with culture. If that culture does not only produce crime but also welfare dependency and doing poor in education and work, that is not an excuse.

  6. So? The Moroccans raided the coasts of Europe for sex slaves and ships for male slaves. They were far bigger slave traders than the Dutch anyway, just like almost any nation. They enslaved about 30.000 Dutch, we have no historical obligation towards the Moroccans whatsoever.

  9. Freedom of religion and islam are not compatible. Muslims want to apply their religious rules like not drawing the prophet or treating every copy of the Quran with respect to everyone, that is an attack on other people's freedom of religion.

  10. No not really. The future pm was murdered, Rutte has been lying about mass immigration for a decade, there is a power grab by the EU the Dutch voted against and the judges are overstretching laws to keep as much immigrants in as they can.

  11. There's the right wing bs about the gas money spent on welfare again, and even the Delta works. Both changes preceed the discovery of the gas field and you could as well claim that the gas paid for the tax break on mortgages. Stupid rich does not apply, it's a lot of money but it's only the largest gasfield in the EU because gasfields are rare in the EU. Government wants to definitively close the field and thereby rule past it's time and prevent their successors from being wiser. It's mainly symbolic as it won't stop the earthquakes and the problems of the people have much more to do with how government didn't handle the damages. Closing off the tap comes instead of reinforcements, and Shell and Exxon would have to pay up. So it only helps Shell and Exxon to avoid the bills and leave the Dutch people with the costs while they have taken their profits outside the country.
