@පැරකුම්බා So you claim it was a gift to the Dutch? In that case it shouldn't be returned because it wasn't stolen. It started as gift to confirm the friendship or something, that we already knew for sure. Either way, we have to have proper criteria and not just hand stuff over out of guilt over general colonialism.

It was a Dutch made gun. I know it's not nice to take back gifts after a break-up, but this gun does not belong to Sri Lankan culture and history.

@ws1814 That is the point. Not even all artefacts that do have a cultural meaning to it's place of origin have to be returned.
