  1. The Range Rover was the start of the luxury 4X4 in Europe and about the only one for a very long time. It was designed with country side upper class going hunting and stuff like that in mind I guess and comfortable but also very capable. Legendary drummer Ginger Baker from Cream bought a very early one at his local Land Rover dealership in the UK in 1971 to visit and drum with the upcoming Afro beat legend Fela Kuti. Fela Kuti was in Nigeria, allthough starting is own seperationist republic, so Baker drove it to Africa, and simply drove the luxury car through both the Sahara, as a ginger, and the jungle to get there and start a legendary collaboration.
