  1. Actually Gdansk is a very Dutch Polish city, lots of Dutch style and Dutch build houses from the 17th century, when the ship would very likely also have been Dutch. But Utrecht was a most important city in a slightly earlier era when the Baltic Sea trade wasn't dominated yet. This neighbourhood in Lemmer is actually not that complicated. We have a lot of so called spaghetti and coliflower neighbourhoods in the Netherlands since the 60's, they were designed to be very residential and pedestrian, kids playing, cars gowing very slow. Usually they are quite nice but people have died because ambulances and fire trucks couldn't find their way in time before sat nav.
