The language issue in this is mostly that countries have different names in other languages so if asks for the letters in the country names or city names you have to think of the English name and ignore the ones in your first language.

The other landlocked Latin American country must be Paraguay.

It depends on how you define country. If it's the nation state it excludes monarchies in which the territory is defined by the monarchs inheretance.

@aphextwin5712 Yes, but countries and cities that have been most important in the past tend to be named in different languages more. We know Cologne must have been an important city for many non German speaking people.

@dennistofvesson6351 Lots of countries have grown out of monarchies, but through the nature of monarchies (in Europe) a country cannot be defined by the monarch alone. If it splits between two successors to the monarch or gets into a union with another monarchy through marriage, it is not really country, is it? A country can have a monarch but it should also exist without a monarch, otherwise it's just a kingdom.

@dennistofvesson6351 That's exactly the point, if the monarchy is only a definition in what way the country is ruled, you must be able to define the country without the monarch, or it is just a kingdom and not a country. Not yet.
