@rozburg RB has only been the dominant car for little over a year now. Ferrari started out 2022 as the dominant car, but got knocked out by Verstappen and RB doing a much better job on strategy and avoiding errors. And still, Perez, a very decent midfield driver by any measure, is not getting 2nd that much or that easily. The RedBull is dominant but not untouchable, Verstappen is.

@scroopynooperz9051 There are quicker drivers than Perez, but the size of the gap is made by Verstappen. And no, it's not the current regulation era. Ferrari of course imploded spectacularly and Leclercs personal errors contributed to that, but let's not forget that Verstappen knocked them out while they were still slightly on top. What Verstappen does to Perez is what he did against Albon and Gasly before. Both happen to impress in the midfield regularly.

The grapes are not sour because Verstappen is clearly the best driver and happens to be in the best car for over a year, allthough the best driver in 2nd or 3rd best car is always better for entertainment value. The grapes our sour because this whole myth of the British guy being the best ever is falling apart spectacularly. Both Hamilton and Bottas are struggling to beat their teammates or make much of an impression now they are not in the far superior car. If we look back at what they did before with what teammates it all becomes very clear and we only need one and the simplest explanation: The Mercedes was a very superior car for an unprecedented lenght of time. Any other explanation demands a terrible lot of assumptions that aren't founded in facts.

@aowen1079 Predictable. No, he was never that good. Quick, but just one of the 3 top drivers of his generation, and not the most level headed and mentally strong. After his impressive rookie year he got hyped as some super talent, but we can objectively establish he was overrated. Button would not stand a chance to him, but got revaluated after he did, Rosberg wouldn't stand a chance to him, but did and suddenly always was a future WDC, Bottas career was going nowhere, but when he was found as replacement driver he became such a fast qualifying specialist. And now both Hamilton and Bottas have become slower? Yeah, right.

Damon Hill is a decent guy always trying to be reasonable. He fails sometimes at being unaffected by the toxic British chauvinism of the Hamilton hype surrounding him, but that must be very hard and he keeps trying.
