People are desperately clinging on to the Messi myth, like he's still in his prime and like he was ever great for Argentina. He's still a dangerous player but what did he actually do this WC, a precise that a good goalkeeper would have stopped and a dribble through some clumsy aussies? Of course he needs a bit of special attention but I wouldn't be surprised if the Netherlands neutralized him and him getting frustrated rather than lead the team after which the Netherlands has a relatively easy win. He simply can't dribble anyone from anywhere anymore and that's what made him special. He's not a Maradona, he's not a big character, not a true leader.

@Jordy4610 I said he was still dangerous, it's just that the media seem to want to build him up to both prime Messi and a true leader.

@raider1297 I know who the best player of the past 15 years was and it's not Christiano. I just don't believe that Messi does greatness very well, or at all. Greatness is not in goal and assist statistics.
