  1. Let's also not forget that the social housing of the 1920's was mostly private not for profit initiative. Government supported it but it was associations of philantropists but also future renters who put their savings in, to 'elevate' the Dutch working class through good housing. It's now government appropriated with different motives.

  2. I like the canal belt island, because they took it as an inspiration rather than imitate it. The Amsterdamse School island is disappointing, much better Amsterdamse School inspired architecture is known to exist.
