  1. I guess it takes an American to spot such minute nuances in skin colour that escape most Italians. Yes, Southern-Italians are discriminated against by Northern Italians, but that's socio-economic and cultural and recognized by things like accent, not skin colour. This obsession with skin colour is purely American, stop projecting and exporting it.

  2.  @wingrider1004  But there is darker skin in Northern Italy too. Maybe not as many per 1000, but that's not the issue. A Northern Italian can not identify someone as Southerner by skin colour. That's not how this discrimination works. Maybe the islands, which tend to have smaller seperated gene pools, are different in this but then it would still be very hard to spot.
