  18. An oversight by priests, was it, Ahmet? I mean - did it take a long time to stop? Similarly with the Spanish Inquisition? I know people aren't perfect, and that 'free will' must be allowed, but you'd think some more SUPERVISION might be aiding many priests at the time... to calm agitated peasants, maybe? Before more blood was split?

  19. Well, things do seem to get them easily roiled up, fear of prophecies, possessed people, labels of the 'reprobate' and so on. Or that there is some 'agenda' against them. A lot of stuff was kept very tightly buttoned down, including choices of women.

  23. Well, they weren't SUPPOSED to shoot people. But the verses often range VERY widely, and there is much militarism hidden within them, too.
