  4. I'm an electrician, not an economist or a politician. We live in a representative democracy so I attempt to elect other monkeys to work that shit out for me so I can concentrate on fault levels and earthing networks. What I don't think is correct is that I ask my 90 y.o. mum and dad what the best thing for the future of the entire country is.I'm not going to defend Tony Blair, but all I'm saying is that he would not attract a representative sample of people as he is disliked by so many.

  5. Japan has just signed a trade deal with the EU so starting production in Japan will be just fine.... 500 jobs and associated supply chain lost at a Phillip's avent factory near me in a small rural community. They are moving back to Holland.... Any idea what those workers will do?

  21.  @racheluk1759  it was a worldwide (well western anyway) recession caused by the dodgy financial practices going on. Deregulation of financial services that were encouraged by various Tory/new labour govs did not help our vunerability. New labour where a Tory lite gov anyway. I live in a east Anglia and work in construction so I am well used to living and working with many different Europeans. Generally they share our work ethic and culture. Non EU immigration is currently skyrocketing under the Tories and I'm not so sure about some of them that import their own culture and religions. That's why I think Brexit is such a retarded idea, we need workers, and I know if rather they came from our nearest neighbours personally. Bit bigoted if me I suppose, but UK is predominantly Christian and secular.

  34. Claire Barlow-Come off it. Thatcher asset stripped the country and handed her quick buck to her city mates and the boomers. The free market economy led to a short term boom, hence all the final salary pensions, 2nd homes and lifetime employment enjoyed by our generation. Now decent employment straight from school is a luxury enjoyed by a few. The tories have overseen one of the biggest rises in the rich poor divide seen in this country over the past 45 years. Hence the Brexit vote
