Japan had a richer culture, was more developed than it's peers, was always respected by the great western powers of the time, nobody invaded the country for thousands of years successfully. They even had similar mindsets to western imperialist powers.

  29. Masks decrease the probability of spreading the virus if the wearer is infected. Masks don't protect from inhaling the particles. So if every Japanese wears mask and a foreigner for example doesn't and is infected, he can spread it. Japanese know that. But yeah, they are extreme in their strictness

Out on public no reason to wear a mask. I still am like you in the past. I miss the funds to go and wearing a mask would be the least of my worries if I could visit. I worry more of a future with vaccine certificates. So go while you still can. In the end only the fun memories will stay
