I'm a German and have to say the British did the right thing. It's our traitor Merkel that's responsible

@kosinusify Actually she broke the constitution and she is the first German leader to do so after Hitler. She changed overnight fundamental human rights like the right to freedom of speech, the right for peaceful assemblance, the right of inviolability of your private home were trample upon. Here are the changes but they are in German. https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/ifsg/IfSG.pdf Page 26: Die Grundrechte der Freiheit der Person (Artikel 2 Abs. 2 Satz 2 Grundgesetz), der Freizügigkeit (Artikel 11 Abs. 1 Grundgesetz), der Versammlungsfreiheit (Artikel 8 Grundgesetz) und der Unverletzlichkeit der Wohnung (Artikel 13 Abs. 1 Grundgesetz) werden im Rahmen der Absätze 1 bis 5 eingeschränkt.) }

@kosinusify I understand. Then that's my bad. I was wrong. But I have to admit that I feel anxious about where this is going. Maybe there's a way to abuse this necessity and make these changes stay for good. Of course I haven't studied law so I don't know if this could be possible.Personally I never trusted any politicians. Ich schreibe in Englisch weil damit mehr Menschen unsere diskussion lesen können.

@johannescampe9684 Things are quite heated in many areas around the world. I believe there is a coordinated effort by both politicians and MSM/Big Tech to win people over to their side and that is creating a chasm between us.

@johannescampe9684 For some it is bearable for others not. And the financial after effects on a global level will be devastating. Already we have 30 million people worldwide that could potentially die from starvation cause of lockdown measures. If this happens the 2 million deaths of covid will be 10 times less. There are countries that didn't restrict said rights like the US (atleast with Trump. We shall see what Biden will do) and Japan. But you are right, most countries are taking very authoritative measures.

@johannescampe9684 Yes, that's true, but in Germany there are also people that struggle a lot. It's just a minority. Also I am of the opinion that simply because a country has it good, doesn't mean to stop being active and cautious. There are many people that compare the good standards of Germany to 3rd world countries and tell others to stop protesting. But once you stop protesting and be politically active, that's the chance for any government to take advantage of that. As the ancient Greeks said, in order for Democracy to work right, people need to be politically engaged and to understand what is going on. Otherwise democracy turns to idiocracy. If people become apathetic and have no interest in politics

@meropedurwood5514 I can't agree with you. You can easily say to someone that he don't know about politics just because you don't agree with him or because you haven't spent enough time on politics. I searching and spending my time reading politics for over 10 years now and also I'm German and I know very well how Merkel deteriorated Germany. I also sent FACTS. Now if you want to be delusional and ignore those facts, that's your right. No offense

@kosinusify I guess I'm too pessimistic. But some fear is always good. It could be what drives someone to be wary of possible shady business going on in politics. I hope you are right. Thank you for the civilized conversation. Those are really rare on the internet.

@meropedurwood5514 I understood it perfectly

@meropedurwood5514 Let me tell you that when I read about politics I always read both sides of the story and try to cross check articles and information as much as possible. I try to question everything I see and never be a blind believer to anyone. I don't just watch MSM and believe everything they say like christians do with the bible so to say. That's what that is supposed to mean. Also I never said that I'm better informed than you. I just mentioned a possible assumption since your previous answer had no logic points or arguments but was a blunt dismissal of what I said. With this kind of answer how am I supposed to know wether you studied politics or not?

@johannescampe9684 Thank you for your nice words. Also, if all of us had the same opinion there wouldn't be a reason for having interesting discussions and the world would be boring.
