With all due respect I have to disagree that it's the audiences fault. It's only his fault because of his weak personality. I understand the logic that the audience knows it is destroying him by giving him more attention, but you can't just blame an anonymous audience for the problems you knowingly caused to yourself. It's your fault because you don't have any self respect and determination and you feel the need for acceptance. If an anonymous audience told you to commit suicide (no matter how evil it is) would you do it? If you do it, that means that the real problem does not lie within the audience, but within yourself, cause something inside you tells you that they are right and that you don't deserve to live. The roots of the problems are deep inside you and have to do with your mental state and insecurities.
