  1. Well that hour and a half went so quick. I was enthralled in Shamsa’s story. She is an amazing storyteller and can put your mind in the place and time she’s talking about with her vivid memory. Shamsa, you are an inspiration, not to mention courageous, brave and forthright. I’m happy that you’re using your horrific experience of FGM to educate others, especially law enforcement, helping victims, the advice for Doctors you could’ve used. I’m so sorry you had to suffer that and witness your sister and cousin suffer too. Then you have to suffer more atrocities of kidnap, rape, torture and brutal beatings. Finally you escape and lose your mother. I truly am sorry for all that you’ve endured. I’ve no doubt you have a diagnosis of PTSD too, yet you keep upbeat in telling your story as you said, not to trigger yourself. I’m very proud of you. I’m sure we’ll see bigger and better things to come. All the best. ❤️
