My son when growing up loved Disney Princess Dolls. My Dad got him a new one each week when they came out at the Newsagents. He played dress ups with materials from his grandmother’s clothing shop. She even made him a sparkly purple mermaid 🧜‍♀️ tail for the pool like Arial The Little Mermaid. He always wore boys clothes, he didn’t want girls clothes but he liked dressing the women of the family and was good at it. We knew he was gay before he did but never pushed him on it. We waited for him to come out when he was ready as he knew we were always there for him. He did suffer bullying unfortunately but he became resilient even though it broke my heart sometimes. He’s happy in a long term relationship with a wonderful guy now. I’ve always been so proud of him ❤️ I’m always glad he grew up in the 2000’s because of peer pressure now with LGBTQ Plus. I think he would’ve been strong enough to resist as he can’t stand the radicals either.

@poeuse9201 it made him so happy. It didn’t hurt anyone. I’m not homophobic. He’s my boy and I love him no matter what.

@andywickoren Thank you for the feedback and sharing too. I don’t know what it was that made myself, his father (we separated when he was 5 yrs old) and our families act that way other than our deep love for him and his brother. It made him so happy and our extended family followed our lead. I can’t wait for him to get married to his long term partner and their 3 cats 🐱 😂❤️ See what comes later! I wish you all the very best.
