  4. It's definitely "strange" and I don't think there is any easy explanation. You don't really get that way from carbon monoxide and it really makes no sense for them to rush out like that unless something very extreme was going on, remember they kept on for a whole kilometer at below zero temps most of them without even shoes. Sometimes people allegedly take their clothes off when freezing to death or so the theory goes, but this should not happen til you are literally almost dead and is very rare and should not happen to a whole group. So there has to be some big puzzle piece that can't really be explained by normal weather as going to certain death makes zero sense even when running from certain death like an avalanche and it's very clear you would change your mind quickly and go back if this was something you could even remotely have a chance to survive.
