You assume a magic world where a trial's outcome is always correct. The whole point of plea deals is for cases like sex crimes that are very hard to prove and where the jury is awful at making a fair assessment. No one forces them to take a plea and if they are innocent they usually won't have to worry about being proven guilty in the first place. Circumstancial evidence is not proof of anything and it's usually pretty hard to prove a murder or a sex crime which usually have no witnesses. Sure an innocent guy could stumble on a murder scene and pick up the murder weapon without thinking but guess what? That guy is not going to make it through a trial either.

@victormiranda9163 There's a lot wrong with the system, but lack of protection for defendants is not a part of it. And you will still get some innocent people convicted no matter what.

It's ridiculous and stupid to think someone is pleading guilty over bail or doing it at all unless they are very afraid of a guilty verdict. Stop doing crimes and you won't have to worry about it I guess LOL
