Without the food and trucks they would simply starve. Most of the farmland was occupied by Germany and even before war there were food shortages. Anyone saying otherwise has to have a massive bias. It seems to be the rage today to think soviet victory was inevitable but when you look on a map and see what was occupied and realize what areas are farmable it is obvious there was no way to fight on.

Вук Тодић You harvest food once a year, so there is no need for aid at all until at least late 1942 you already have enough stored from before. And millions of people did starve to death. If it got any worse they would have to turn to cannibalism, and some reports say they did in isolated instances. They also didn't have any boots for their new recruits without US aid. That was the first thing they sent and sent them in the millions. You can guess how well the winter fighting would go without that. Stalin also sent about 5 million to die around moscow-rhzev area in winter of 1941, would not be surprised if it were to decrease supply needs.

Just summed up every item in the Germany army

The worst US general in WW II is Eisenhower who got rid of all the older officers with combat experience and those without an ivy league progressive education and replaced them with his incompetent upper class cronies like Stilwell.

Because they shot south instead to loot germany's nukes for use on japan.

I would love to take this thing down to the corner store!

Because european powers explored and looked for colonial opportunities while the other powers were more concerned with internal affairs or simply staying afloat, no other reason.

Stalin himself said it would be impossible to win without it. The weapons and resources could probably be done without, but the food and communications equipment and trucks made it possible to keep fighting otherwise it would be over. The trucks also made it possible to collect food. Without that and food half the country would starve to death. You can't grow food on tundra and most of the farmland was occupied.

@wassaspielt It's documented, look it up.

Anti-'wehraboos' don't care in the least about military technology or even history except in how they can rewrite it to fit their agenda. If you are paid are you a slave? Well everyone is a slave then. So are POWs and interned individuals forced to work, that makes USA the biggest slave state in history even in the 20th century. People who care about who won ww II and the social BS should just shut up and leave that for discussing oscar grab movies not real history and military matters which 99% of the population don't even care about anyway.

This kind of thing is ridiculous and irksome. In naval battles ships are captured all the time and almost never is a surface ship totally destroyed with no survivors but for tanks no it must be a magical complete annihilation to count as a kill to some people what a joke.

Yes but it's still garbage though. Its suspension will only let it go about a mile off road, north africa being flat and europe and its roads were literally the only place it could function, if they had to fight anywhere else it would be another story.Tiger is a much better tank all around, because it was designed after much fighting. Sherman is like the P IV of the americans, you can't expect it to be perfect, and all the people saying it's good AT ALL are completely and utterly full of it, it was an absolute garbage tank, poorly designed and nothing worked right. It was roomy, and people in it liked that, but for such a feebly protected tank it had the same height as a tiger tank so was a massive problem if people actually shoot at you.

@brucenorman8904 You have no idea what you're talking about. running out of gas = a kill LOL
1
@frankcorner8716 Exactly. German tank crews got out even from huge explosions. Sherman crews got hosed out after heavy machinegun fire from the side and back.

Farming and food distribution

@fegelfly7877 Wow what a dunce. The germans used horses more than the soviets, but that is not what the trucks were used for they were used for TRANSPORT especially in food production which let the russians go from 47% of their workers being in agriculture to freeing up almost everyone. And most important for doing what their trains would have done. And in addition to the endless rolling stock. Liars and idiots, those are the only people who make this crap up. The supply situation was the problem for the germans, and this would also have been a huge problem for the russians except america send over magic almost instant solutions to all these problems.
