17 years of constant instability and no more excuses now because it is very widely adopted

I've moved to Openmandriva on x11 due to the massive instability of Fedora where things constantly stop working. I'm guessing wayland is a big driver of those problems and the manner it's developed probably means it will always be unstable slop.

They are not the originals either, that's what kills me about all these open source fracases going on. They are just people who wormed into control and they have actually kicked out many big contributors over the years. That's fine in the corporate world but no one has that right in open source landscape and they are stealing these people's work and misusing it or even trying to destroy it.

The oldest code is the most tested code. With rust for example (and therefore 8800 other projects) it is in constant flux and changes overnight, so it is always untested and new bugs are bound to happen every 3 seconds and constant updates are required. The main reason it's stupid to ditch C ( even though C++ is clearly better in many ways and some languages like rust are theoretically better) is that the back end and abi is beyond rock solid and you can't even say that about C++ let alone rust

That's pretty funny/sad actually. What a joke wayland is. And getting stuck on gnome is the last thing I want (or that anyone should want).

Unfortunately most of them are just some guys who like linux so it is easy for them to be blindsided by people with an agenda (which was never the case before because everyone was just doing these projects to avoid corporate kruft like wayland and rust not to push it).

I don't think stability will be an issue, should be more stable with all the fixes though they will need a lot of testing.
