The government is the main baddie, no matter where you live

It's just bizarre anyone making a filesystem would do or say any of this. The most important place to have no bugs.

Trying to merge them together is just doomed, and rust really adds nothing in spite of the great cries that it does.

It's almost like these companies and organizations don't really want security but to spy on the user no matter what measures are taken.

You say it like it's a good thing but it's not. Lack of price is not what makes it free, and having corporate hooks is the whole thing free software was created to avoid, not to avoid paying for the install discs and docs lol Gnome went from a desktop very open and productive that was similar to SunOS to everything locked down and 'simple' ie hidden away and slow and difficult to use, and then when the ubuntu phone failed the whole impetus for ubuntu to care went out the window. I'm not against the making of money but not by locking down the user and gaining control over both the user and the creative side which is what's happening. When Linus some day retires then the linux org will be run just like these guys and it will be a disaster.

The OS supporting it means nothing if the drivers aren't there and the OS and board makers work together to force upgrades. They don't have to explicitly lock them out to effectively kill them off.

exactly. Also, I doubt there is much more insecurity on win7 than win11 as long as you stick to email and big sites. Which is all most people do anyway.

It's a waste of resources to begin with it just enables people to use this spyware insecure garbage by blocking ads.

But do they actually stop the information harvesting?

They want to backdocument things that no one kept track of or had any reason to, suddenly 'memory safety' is incredibly important in code that is 30 years old and obviously working well. When processing output from outside the computer that's untrusted like in a web browser or ssh server this is very important. For all this other stuff it's just stupid and it's also absolutely impossible to figure out decades later. So they want something impossible and pointless and if they don't do it then they are naziwaawaa bad people holding back progress.

It's objectively the worst, instability is the worst OS property

Zen is pretty good but still based on FF so the bloat is real.
