  15. There is an upper limit to private wealth. If the GDP of the planet is 80 trillion, then an individual or corporate entity cannot have a net worth anywhere near this amount since some of this money has to go back to private citizens in the form of pensions, salaries, etc and to other businesses and to governments. So, yes, Patrick, there is an upper limit. Nonetheless, the attainable amount for an individual is far greater than most people dare to imagine.

  19. I think spatial intelligence goes hand in hand with sports. Pro athletes have amazing body kinesthetics, but without great spatial reasoning, they couldnt shoot those 3s. Spatial intelligence is also part of mechanical apptitude.

  25. The logic of what you are saying makes sense in high performance arenas like pro sports. Only a group of world class athletes will do. However, are you seriously going to fire the bottom 10% of your Walmart cashiers when your business depends on having all check stands open and the unemployment rate is 3%?

  26. I consider myself a valid complainer. 99% of the businesses get very defensive or ignore me when I complain. Most o these businesses are small to medium. What it tells me is that there is a lot of room for a competitor with a better system to come in and dominate.

  29. I think you simply do not want a UBI. We need to hedge our bets and be prepared to have some form of an income replacement program. We cant assume that jobs will be created as fast as automation eliminates them. What we need is an enhanced unemployment program that gives people who have been displaced by automation an income and funding for retraining. So, tax newly automated industries for a certain period to help displqced workers. So, two ideas. Set up a supplemental unemployment savings plan similar to a 401k. The employee can set aside, tax free, a certain % of their income for technological unemployment. It will accumulate interest and be held in trust by the government. Once they are displaced, they will go on unemployment and willl be able to draw upon their saving for up to 4 months while they look for a new job. If by this time they are unable to find a position, then they would qualify for the enhanced unemployment fund supported by the taxation of newly automated industries. So, if after a few cycles of this, we determine that more jobs are being lost than gained through automation, we can start to consider a UBI for permanently displaced workers.

  40. So, in an ideal world, all debates would take place on the left side of your quadrsnt. However, the vast majority of people take their personal ideaologies very personally and refuse to entertain contrarian opinions without getting very emotional. By nature, I enjoy a stimulating debate, but even in college, an arena where debating was encouraged, I didnt have a single exchange of ideas without my opponent frothing at the mouth.

A "committee" of un motivated Joe's and Jill's is not going to dream of making an amazing chicken sandwich. Only a passionate, focused individual is going to dream of a world with amazing chicken sandwiches. There must always be a leader to call the shots. The government, via the democratic inputs of working people, must ensure fair labor laws, a living, wage,more form of UBI..in the future, zoning laws that incentive affordable, decent housing, and affordable universal health care. Most people are NOT going to get rich or even upper middle class. Our system requires hard working individuals and these people deserve to be treated well. Insipid, uninspired comittees do not start and grow amazing businesses.

They were undoubtedly negligent in allowing this virus to emerge and with the subsequent cover up. If NYC schools feel like there are children who are not in honors programs because of living in a broken home, then fund after school programs where they receive tutoring, a snack, etc. Not everybody has a high IQ or has a 4ft vertical leap. But, by all means, help out the ones with potential who live in difficult circumstances.
